My Last Fall Senior Portrait Photography Session of the Year
Can I just start by saying how happy I am with how long the fall color stayed around in West Virginia this year? My daughter Olive was born in early September, so I was on maternity leave for most of September and October. I had my last senior portrait photography session of the season scheduled for November 10th, so I was totally expecting the trees to be bare. (last year, they were completely dead looking by the beginning of October.) To my surprise, the leaves were still hanging on! I think they added such a great pop of color to the background of Trey’s senior portraits. Aren’t they so dreamy???
Trey and his mom were such a pleasure to work with. It was so nice getting to know them a little bit! Trey finishes up with his high school courses early to attend college classes in the afternoons, so we had a small window of time between his classes to work with.
We met at the park behind his high school, and walked through some lovely trails. The light was a little harsh due to the time of day, but we were able to find plenty of little pockets of shade. Trey is a big gamer and wanted that shown in his portraits.
We made our way to the high school track field where Trey competes. These ended up being some of my favorite images of the session. You could just see how at home he felt on the track.
There were a group of young school kids at the track for their physical education class, and they were in awe over his medals! He kept getting “ooh”s and “ahh”s from them.
I’m so happy we were able to squeeze this session in before the holiday rush. I hope the rest of Trey’s senior year is great!
